Xiaomi considers Uzbekistan as a service hub with access to CIS markets
Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, the CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan, convened a meeting with a delegation from Xiaomi, headed by Wang Guifen, the Business Development Director. During the discussions, both parties explored a model for scaling user support for CIS markets from Uzbekistan via IT Park members, with an eye toward long-term global expansion. Special emphasis was placed on boosting order volumes for Uzbek companies.
Xiaomi is a prominent Chinese technology firm that specializes in manufacturing smartphones, consumer electronics, and smart home devices. The company has also developed a global ecosystem of smart devices and online services, and it operates an extensive network of partners and suppliers around the world.
A significant aspect of the conversation centered on Uzbekistan’s pool of multilingual professionals and the broader potential of its regions. The parties also deliberated on the implementation of educational programs and the creation of training centers aligned with Xiaomi’s corporate standards.
The discussions further underscored the company’s current operational model: a segment of Xiaomi’s customer support services is already being delivered by a partner that inaugurated the company’s first call center in Tashkent in June 2025. Building on this groundwork, the parties discussed a phased centralization of service flows for CIS markets through IT Park members as an initial step, followed by expansion to other regions.
IT Park invited Xiaomi representatives to visit Uzbekistan for further discussions, to which the company indicated its willingness to participate.
These agreements are anticipated to enhance Xiaomi’s outsourcing support for CIS markets from Uzbekistan by utilizing multilingual specialists and increasing order volumes for IT Park members. This, in turn, will bolster the export potential of Uzbekistan’s IT sector, solidifying the country’s status as an attractive destination for international tech outsourcing, and generating new job opportunities. Xiaomi representatives have accepted the invitation to visit Uzbekistan for ongoing negotiations.
