Visit to Sydney: Uzbekistan Outsourcing Session and strengthening cooperation with Australian companies

A delegation from Uzbekistan, headed by Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of IT Park Uzbekistan Farkhod Ibragimov, engaged in a series of discussions with prominent Australian firms in Sydney as part of the Uzbekistan Outsourcing Session. The aim of this visit was to enhance collaboration with key players in Australia’s IT industry, attract foreign investment, and showcase Uzbekistan’s potential as a burgeoning regional center for technological outsourcing.

Uzbekistan Outsourcing Session

The Uzbekistan Outsourcing Session, initiated by IT Park Uzbekistan, acted as a vital platform for showcasing the nation's expanding capabilities in the IT and outsourcing sectors. The event gathered 35 representatives from 26 companies across various industries, including telecommunications, fintech, cybersecurity, and consulting.

The session commenced with remarks from Uzbekistan's Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, who emphasized the opportunities for digital collaboration between Uzbekistan and Australia, along with the ongoing reforms and investment prospects within the nation’s IT sector.

During the presentation, IT Park Uzbekistan detailed the national digital development strategy, the benefits available to foreign investors, and initiatives such as the Zero Risk program and the IT Visa for international professionals. Special attention was given to the country’s significant potential in IT talent development and the array of government incentives provided to technopark members.

In addition to the main session, a series of B2B meetings took place with representatives from companies such as ISG, Trendspek, Ethikc360, AcclimeIP, ScapeIP, Collagis, LambdaTest, Apptio, Intuit, Garuwa, RTS CloudNet, Grug Consulting, and Pacific Labs.

Post-event, several companies expressed keen interest in partnering with Uzbekistan, with two—Grug Consulting and Trendspek—revealing intentions to make business visits to the country in the upcoming months.

In his closing remarks, Farkhod Ibragimov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of IT Park Uzbekistan, highlighted Uzbekistan’s increasing significance as a strategic ally for international firms. He pointed out that the nation provides highly advantageous conditions for IT business growth, including tax and visa incentives, advanced infrastructure, and strong government backing for export-oriented businesses.

Meetings with Australian Companies

As part of the visit, IT Park Uzbekistan conducted several meetings with Australian firms.

During the discussion with iTelaSoft, COO Ravindra Samarasinghe expressed a desire to collaborate with Uzbek IT professionals, especially those skilled in telecommunications and digital marketing. The two parties explored the possibility of establishing an iTelaSoft office in Uzbekistan to cater to clients in Europe and the CIS region, which would allow the company to reduce operational costs and take advantage of IT Park Uzbekistan’s favorable tax regime.

iTelaSoft is a technology firm established in 2009 in Sydney, Australia. It focuses on software development, cloud engineering, IoT, fintech, and digital transformation. The company employs over 150 individuals and generates annual revenues exceeding $23 million. Additionally, it has an international footprint in Sri Lanka, India, and the United Kingdom.

In a meeting with Trendspek CEO Derek Feebrey, the discussion centered on the company’s potential expansion into the Central Asian market via Uzbekistan. Trendspek's management showed interest in localizing part of its operations in the country and offering services from Uzbekistan, capitalizing on its cost-effectiveness and skilled labor force.

Trendspek is an innovative Australian firm that specializes in intelligent infrastructure management. Founded in 2018 and based in Sydney, its flagship product — the Precision Asset Intelligence (PAI) platform — utilizes photogrammetry and drone data to create detailed 3D models of buildings and infrastructure. The company’s solutions are utilized in over 20 countries, with clients that include National Grid, the University of Sydney, the University of Melbourne, and PGIM.

During a meeting with ISG Managing Director Himanshu Chawla, the parties agreed to develop a joint presentation to promote Uzbekistan as a viable IT outsourcing destination. They also discussed the creation of a working group to implement this initiative and formulate advisory guidelines for ISG’s international clients regarding business opportunities in Uzbekistan.

ISG (Information Services Group) is a prominent global consulting and research firm that specializes in digital transformation and outsourcing. Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Stamford, USA, the company operates in 20 countries, including Australia, and employs over 1,600 professionals. ISG’s annual revenue is reported at $247 million.

International Astronautical Congress

In connection with the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) 2025 in Sydney, IT Park Uzbekistan conducted a series of discussions with international firms engaged in the space technology industry.

During a meeting with Axelspace Corporation, representative Shimpei Nakano indicated a desire to outsource satellite data labeling and analysis services, specifically for Japan’s agricultural sector. Axelspace is contemplating a partnership with Uzbek experts via IT Park Uzbekistan to enhance its analytical capabilities and lower operational expenses.

Axelspace Corporation, established in 2008 in Tokyo, Japan, focuses on the development and management of small satellites and the processing of Earth observation data. The company effectively utilizes space technology in agriculture, infrastructure monitoring, and environmental management, offering clients high-resolution satellite imagery and analytical services.

In a meeting with CONTEC Earth Service Co., Ltd. CEO Jae-Hyun Baek, the two parties examined the potential for outsourcing satellite data processing and annotation tasks to Uzbekistan. The leadership of the company remarked that collaboration with IT Park Uzbekistan could improve operational efficiency and facilitate project delivery in partnership with international collaborators.

CONTEC Earth Service Co., Ltd., part of the CONTEC Space Group, is a South Korean company based in Daejeon. It provides services in satellite communications, data reception, and image processing. Through its global partnerships, CONTEC supports initiatives in Earth observation, defense, and geospatial analytics.

During discussions with ST Engineering representatives Bhadri Prasad Raman and Chia Kar Wee, the parties investigated the possibility of transferring some of the company’s satellite image annotation projects to Uzbekistan. ST Engineering expressed its willingness to consider Uzbekistan as a long-term collaborator in geospatial analytics and space technology.

ST Engineering is one of the largest engineering firms in Singapore, operating across the aerospace, defense, and information technology sectors. It includes divisions such as ST Engineering Satellite Systems and ST Engineering Geo-Insights, providing a comprehensive range of services from satellite development to data analytics.

In a meeting with Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) engineer Im Seong-hui, the company conveyed its interest in data analytics and ground-segment support services for satellite systems. The discussion included potential collaboration with Uzbek IT specialists, focusing on training programs and joint research initiatives under IT Park Uzbekistan.

Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), established in 1999 and based in Gyeongsangnam-do Province, is South Korea’s foremost aerospace company. It specializes in the design and manufacture of military and civilian aircraft as well as satellite systems, while also engaging in advanced aerospace technology research. KAI actively partners with international organizations to develop satellite navigation and Earth observation solutions.

In another meeting with 4 Earth Intelligence (4EI) manager Kanchana Bandaranayake, the parties explored a project concerning the labeling of road and navigation signs for the UAE government. They contemplated assigning part of the work to Uzbek specialists and establishing a long-term partnership in satellite analytics and AI-driven geospatial data processing.

It undertakes both government and commercial projects in areas such as urban planning, environmental monitoring, and infrastructure development, serving clients that include government agencies and international organizations across the Middle East.

Furthermore, a meeting took place with representatives from NASA’s HUNCH program, which involves students in real-world engineering projects for NASA. The discussions centered on launching the initiative in Uzbekistan, allowing Uzbek students and schoolchildren to engage in international STEM projects and acquire practical experience in the aerospace field.

The visit of IT Park Uzbekistan to Australia highlighted the significant international interest in collaboration with Uzbekistan. The meetings established a foundation for long-term partnerships aimed at developing IT outsourcing, attracting investment, and facilitating the exchange of expertise. This visit represented a crucial milestone in enhancing Uzbekistan’s status as a rapidly evolving technological hub in the region.
