Uzbekistan–Korea: cooperation in the IT sector continues to expand

Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies Rustam Karimjonov convened a meeting with Kim Kyo Xin, a Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea and Chair of the Committee on Education and Culture, where they discussed the further enhancement of Uzbekistan–Korea collaboration in the information technology sector.

The meeting underscored the consistent growth of South Korean IT companies' operations in Uzbekistan. It was mentioned that by the end of this year, the number of Korean IT firms functioning in the country is anticipated to reach 30.

The participants also shared insights on attracting foreign investment, including initiatives related to the establishment of large-scale data centers, the advancement of digital education cooperation, and the execution of joint projects.

Additionally, the parties identified actionable steps aimed at increasing the number of companies involved in the export of IT services in Uzbekistan to 100 by 2030, broadening the scope of collaborative projects, and further reinforcing the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea.
