Uzbekistan introduced new measures to attract foreign IT experts
On 21 November, a new resolution designed to enhance the digital sector and boost the country's appeal to foreign IT professionals and investors came into effect.
This resolution allows for the issuance of special IT-visas to scholars with PhD or DSc degrees, as well as to founders and IT specialists involved in international startup projects. This visa category is also accessible to directors and deputy directors of companies that are part of IT Park Uzbekistan. The visa permits multiple entries and offers unrestricted access to the country for work and participation in digital initiatives.
Simultaneously, the government is implementing a targeted financing mechanism to support the training of skilled IT professionals. Plans are in place to provide concessional loans for studies at specialized international training centers.
Furthermore, the document outlines:
These initiatives enhance the capacity of IT Park Uzbekistan to collaborate with international specialists and companies. Streamlined entry procedures for foreign experts and scholars facilitate access to global expertise, expedite the initiation of joint projects, and aid in improving the quality of the local IT ecosystem.
The new talent development strategies create an environment for swiftly meeting the demand for qualified developers and engineers, while also boosting the export potential of IT Park members by enhancing their competitiveness in international markets.
