During ICT Week Uzbekistan 2025 in Tashkent, Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, the CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan, convened a meeting with a delegation from Qatar that included prominent venture capital funds, accelerators, and business angels. The discussions centered on enhancing Uzbekistan’s startup ecosystem, facilitating interactions between investors and startups, and exploring opportunities for collaboration in joint investments, acceleration programs, and the promotion of business angel practices.

The delegation comprised: Atypical Ventures — a global investment platform focused on fintech and SaaS; Alchemist Qatar — a branch of one of Silicon Valley’s top accelerators; Rasmal Ventures — a Qatari venture fund targeting the MENA region; Golden Gate Ventures — an international fund managing assets exceeding $250 million; Doha Tech Angels — Qatar’s inaugural angel investor group; and the European Business Angels Network — the largest association of business angels in Europe.

A key point of interest was the proposal for a collaborative project with Doha Tech Angels to establish the Business Angel School in Uzbekistan. This educational initiative aims to nurture a new generation of professional angel investors in the country and to create a sustainable foundation for the growth of startup investments.

At the end of the visit, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to developing long-term partnerships, sharing expertise, and executing joint investment initiatives. This development signifies a crucial advancement in Uzbekistan’s integration into the global venture capital landscape and in reinforcing its status as an emerging innovation hub in Central Asia.
