On March 5, the Uzbekistan–Latvia Business Forum took place in Tashkent, focusing on enhancing trade, economic, and investment collaboration between the two nations. The event gathered officials from government institutions, business leaders, and technology sector representatives from both Uzbekistan and Latvia.
Attendees included officials from government agencies, business sectors of Uzbekistan and Latvia, along with representatives from IT Park Uzbekistan. Over 20 Latvian companies participated, such as Latvijas dzelzceļš, Ventspils Free Port, Elektroniskie sakari, Intellog, and MGK Building, covering industries like railway infrastructure, port logistics, telecommunications, transport services, and construction technologies.
At the forum, IT Park Uzbekistan representatives showcased the opportunities for collaboration within the nation’s technology ecosystem and detailed the supportive environment established for the growth of IT businesses in Uzbekistan.
Dildora Nasibullaeva, Head of the International Cooperation Department at IT Park Uzbekistan, presented insights into Uzbekistan’s potential for advancing the technology sector and enhancing partnerships with international firms. She emphasized that the country is fostering favorable conditions for scaling IT enterprises and exploring new markets.
“Today Uzbekistan positions itself as a strategic digital platform connecting Europe and Central Asia. Our goal is not only domestic growth but also full integration into global value chains through technology, talent, and modern infrastructure,”
IT Park Uzbekistan also introduced several initiatives aimed at bolstering technological collaboration between Uzbekistan and Latvia. Specifically, proposals were made for joint projects to assist Latvian companies in entering international markets, fostering cooperation in education and training specialists in artificial intelligence, and expanding partnerships in venture investments and support for innovative startups.
The forum also featured B2B and B2G meetings, where representatives from companies and government institutions engaged in discussions about cooperation prospects and the implementation of joint projects.
Collaboration with the Latvian counterpart is anticipated to create new avenues for IT Park Uzbekistan to broaden its export landscape, draw in direct investments, and enhance Uzbekistan’s role as a strategic digital hub linking Europe and Central Asia.
