Uzbek founders abroad to support the development of the national startup ecosystem

During ICT Week Uzbekistan 2025, Sherzod Shermatov, the Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, and Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, the CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan, convened with a delegation of Uzbek entrepreneurs who have launched startups in the United States, Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates. The participants agreed to enhance collaboration, improve the startup ecosystem, establish new investment and partnership avenues, and create favorable conditions for Uzbek projects to enter global markets.

The meeting included founders and senior leaders from prominent international companies, such as:

Fleetroot (UAE) — a platform focused on fleet management, logistics optimization, and last-mile delivery, actively operating in the MENA region and providing cloud-based solutions for transportation and service businesses.

Comfi (UAE) — a fintech startup that offers innovative B2B SaaS payment solutions, designed to streamline payment processes for enterprises and accelerate contract execution, ensuring transparency and flexibility in financial transactions.

SPS Commerce (USA) — a global frontrunner in cloud solutions for e-commerce and supply chain management, which recently acquired SupplyPike for $206 million, thereby reinforcing its position in the global market.

Clarity Flo (USA) — a startup that provides AI-driven tools to simplify and automate contract management, significantly advancing LegalTech solutions and reducing operational costs related to documentation for businesses.

CustomerBase.ai (USA) — a technology firm specializing in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cloud platforms, with applications across fintech, education, and corporate automation.

Rakuten Group (Japan) — the largest IT conglomerate in Japan, recognized for its proficiency in e-commerce, fintech, telecommunications, and digital services, which continues to develop international initiatives and support the IT community.

Trestle (South Korea) — a company that implements and customizes Salesforce solutions across various industries, merging technological expertise with experience in creating multicultural teams.

Moneff (United Kingdom) — a successful fintech startup established by Uzbek entrepreneurs, focusing on advanced payment services for small and medium-sized enterprises and providing financial solutions for the Uzbek diaspora in Europe.

Salm Corp (South Korea) — a technology startup focused on developing SaaS and AI solutions within the health tech industry, specifically aimed at creating digital tools that enhance mental health and well-being.

Smartup (Uzbekistan, UAE) — a cloud-based ERP platform operated by Green White Solutions, which automates processes related to distribution, trade marketing, warehousing, financial management, and point-of-sale transactions.

Significant attention was directed towards fostering an ongoing dialogue between the local startup ecosystem and Uzbek entrepreneurs abroad. The discussion highlighted essential challenges faced by emerging businesses as they seek to enter international markets, such as gaining access to investment, mentorship, and expert networks, in addition to forming teams that include specialists from various countries. The conversation also emphasized the substantial potential for integrating Uzbek IT talent into global initiatives and the vital role of the diaspora in promoting innovation.

After the meeting, the involved parties reached an agreement to launch collaborative programs aimed at supporting startups, developing educational initiatives, and creating new avenues for attracting investment.

These agreements are anticipated to create further opportunities for international collaboration, enhance the visibility of Uzbek startups, and draw in investment, thereby solidifying Uzbekistan’s status as a regional center for innovation and entrepreneurship.
