IT Park Uzbekistan continues to draw in talented young professionals to its workforce. This summer, over 20 students became part of the organization, including 14 scholarship awardees from the El-Yurt Umidi Foundation. The interns are currently studying at prestigious international institutions such as the University of Arizona, Arizona State University, the University of Birmingham, Stony Brook University, KAIST (Korea), the University of York, and the University of Warwick.

The El-Yurt Umidi Foundation was founded under the Agency for Civil Service Development, which operates under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the aim of facilitating training and retraining for highly skilled professionals abroad. This initiative provides gifted citizens with the chance to study and gain practical experience at top universities and organizations around the globe, thereby enabling them to contribute to key sectors of the economy and the public sector upon their return to Uzbekistan.

Some of the participants are completing internships at IT Park’s headquarters in Tashkent, while others are stationed at the regional office in Nukus. All interns have been assigned workspaces, mentorship, and opportunities to participate in various projects, including IT services export, startup and venture ecosystem development, resident monitoring, international cooperation, public relations, and human resources. After the internship period, IT Park will evaluate employment prospects for the most driven participants.

This summer also saw students from universities in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Korea joining the program. More than half of the interns are El-Yurt Umidi scholars. They have been involved in departments focused on startup ecosystem development, resident monitoring, public relations, strategy and analytics, as well as at IT Park’s regional office in Nukus.

Kelshinboev Mashkhurbek stated: “I study International Relations and Economics at the University of Birmingham. The internship in the Soft Landing Department at IT Park has provided me with an excellent environment in which to strengthen my skills and increase my competitiveness in the market. My mentor explains tasks in detail and provides practical guidance. During this period, I significantly improved my computer literacy, a skill that is critically important for me."

Sunnatbek Abdumalikov stated, “I opted for IT Park due to its contemporary infrastructure and facilities, alongside its robust programs for startup development and the chance to gain international experience and connections. I am currently interning in the Soft Landing Department, where the atmosphere is inviting, the environment is modern, and the culture is adaptable.”

Mokhidil Ergasheva remarked, “I am presently enrolled at the University of Birmingham. At IT Park, I am interning in the HR Department. This presents a unique chance to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical setting, familiarize myself with the internal processes of a large organization, and engage in a dynamic environment. What inspires me the most is the team atmosphere: the sense of support and involvement makes the work not only productive but also truly enjoyable.”

This initiative aims to tackle practical challenges and actively involve young professionals. IT Park is evolving into a platform where knowledge gained from leading international universities, their branches in Uzbekistan, and innovative educational centers is transformed into concrete products and services that enhance the human capital of the national IT sector.

IT Park Uzbekistan is pleased to collaborate with the El-Yurt Umidi Foundation and appreciates its support for young professionals. We believe that such initiatives are crucial in establishing a robust national IT ecosystem and in unlocking the potential of a new generation of leaders in the digital future.
