Results of the first corporate AI hackathon at IT Park Uzbekistan

IT Park Uzbekistan has successfully wrapped up its inaugural corporate AI hackathon, Build with AI, which united employees from both the head office and regional branches. Over a span of four days, 245 participants formed 55 teams to create practical AI-driven solutions aimed at improving the company’s internal processes.

The hackathon functioned not only as a competitive event but also as a venue for knowledge exchange. Teams developed prototypes, engaged in mentoring sessions, and showcased their projects to a panel of judges. The judging panel featured Khondamir Rakhmatov, CTO of Venkon Group; Renat Akhtyamov, Director at EPAM; and Yerbol Akhmetov, Head of Business Programs Office at Astana Hub.

Highlights of the second and third days

On August 14–15, the hackathon progressed at IT Park Uzbekistan. Teams focused on refining and testing their products, enhancing functionality, and gaining valuable insights from mentors.

The second day particularly emphasized learning: participants took part in workshops on storytelling in IT and the practical application of AI solutions, promptly utilizing these insights to improve project logic and prepare their initial demos.

The third day was dedicated to final preparations for the presentations: teams conducted testing, enhanced their prototypes, created slides, and assigned roles for pitching. All submissions were made via Padlet, and the day concluded with a gratitude session with mentors and the announcement of the grand finale.

The final day of the hackathon occurred on August 16, featuring the final presentations and project defenses before the jury. Each team showcased its product, articulated the problem it aimed to solve, demonstrated the prototype, and answered questions from the experts.

Projects were assessed based on five criteria: practical value and applicability within the company, effective utilization of AI tools and agents, quality and simplicity of implementation, presentation and delivery, as well as teamwork and innovation. The final presentations were conducted in an open format, allowing teams to pitch their projects, respond to inquiries, and demonstrate fully functioning prototypes.

Hackathon winners

The first place was claimed by the Pitch Grader team from IT Park Ventures. Their solution — an AI agent that automates the evaluation of startup applications — assesses pitches against standardized criteria and provides immediate feedback.

This tool streamlines the project assessment process from months to mere minutes while enhancing the quality of selection.

The second place was awarded to the AISIA team from the Service Export Department for Asian markets. They developed AI-Jon — a CRM assistant that operates within a Telegram bot. This solution automates routine tasks such as adding profiles to the CRM, generating follow-up messages, preparing meeting briefs, and sourcing leads. This innovation saves over 360 working hours each month and thousands of dollars, reducing employee burnout and allowing for a greater focus on more strategic goals.

The third prize was claimed by the Simpsons team from the Resident Relations Department (L2G/Consulting). Their Smart Search Module enhances data search and management within the organization. By supporting natural language queries and structured filters, it offers a centralized access point to information, cutting search time from hours to seconds and significantly lightening the workload for employees.

Results were also announced separately by region. The winning team from IT Park’s Namangan branch introduced Resident AI — an intelligent assistant designed for IT Park members. This solution allows companies to track obligations and deadlines, utilize financial and tax tools, and receive personalized recommendations and support through an AI Help Desk.

The hackathon showcased the significant potential of employees in leveraging AI technologies and signaled the start of new initiatives that will be further integrated into the organization’s operations.
