The delegation from IT Park Uzbekistan has completed a working visit to Europe, which involved meetings with technology firms and industry organizations in Slovenia, Poland, and Hungary, along with the events “Uzbekistan: A Digital Step Towards the Future” in Warsaw and the Uzbekistan Outsourcing Conference in Budapest. This visit marked a significant advancement in strengthening collaborations with the European IT ecosystem and enhancing opportunities for outsourcing, joint projects, and knowledge sharing.

Meetings in Slovenia

In Ljubljana, the IT Park delegation conducted a series of six meetings with prominent figures in the country’s technology sector.

During the discussion with Adacta, the focus was on the company's demand for engineering talent and the outsourcing prospects available in Uzbekistan. The delegation provided insights into tax incentives, human resources, and IT Park’s membership model. Adacta showed considerable interest in collaboration and is contemplating the initiation of pilot projects with teams from Uzbekistan.

Adacta is a Slovenian technology firm established in 1989, specializing in digital solutions for the insurance and financial industries.

In the meeting with Spyrosoft, the rising costs of IT services in Europe were addressed. The company mentioned that to remain competitive, it is actively searching for embedded systems engineers in international markets. The discussions also explored the potential for scaling development through teams in Uzbekistan and the possibility of opening an office in the country.

Spyrosoft is an international IT company based in Poland, engaged in embedded engineering, automotive, cloud, and enterprise development.

The conversation with Be-Terna centered on resource costs, the availability of regional talent, and the timelines for initiating operations in Uzbekistan. The company emphasized the appeal of IT Park’s incentives and expressed readiness to conduct a thorough evaluation of cooperation opportunities.

Be-Terna is a leading European integrator within the Telefónica Tech Group, employing over 1,000 specialists and focusing on ERP, CRM, and digital transformation.

Discussions with the leadership of Technology Park Ljubljana concluded with an agreement to collaboratively promote IT Park Uzbekistan among Slovenian companies. The park committed to assisting in the organization of events, business meetings, and connections with the local ecosystem.

Technology Park Ljubljana stands as Slovenia’s largest technology hub, uniting hundreds of companies and startups while offering innovation support and a platform for the advancement of technological businesses.

Better has shown a heightened interest in outstaffing and offshoring prospects in Uzbekistan. The discussions encompassed the requirements for scaling teams, the language skills of specialists, and the potential for long-term collaboration. The company perceives Uzbekistan as a promising avenue for the expansion of its development operations.

Better is a Slovenian firm that specializes in digital healthcare solutions, which include electronic medical records and clinical platforms.

During the meeting with Kontron, a company that has been active in the Uzbek market for over 20 years, representatives shared their local operational experiences. The IT Park delegation highlighted the government tax incentives available to companies exporting IT services from Uzbekistan.

The discussions with Kontron centered on scalable outsourcing models and the potential to engage Uzbek engineers. The representatives from the company expressed interest in assessing team costs and establishing a possible long-term partnership.

Kontron is an international company based in Austria, boasting an annual revenue exceeding €1.6 billion and a workforce of over 7,000 employees. It develops hardware-software solutions for industrial IoT, automation, transportation, communications, defense, and smart energy, and operates in global markets.

Meetings and Event in Poland

The working agenda in Warsaw included B2B meetings and participation in the event titled “Uzbekistan: A Digital Step Towards the Future.”

The initial meeting took place with La French Tech Warsaw, focusing on collaborative events, acceleration programs, and opportunities to engage the French entrepreneurial community in projects within Uzbekistan. The organization expressed its willingness to support IT Park’s initiatives and contribute to the promotion of offshoring in the region.

La French Tech Warsaw is a segment of the global French Tech community, uniting French founders, investors, and technology firms operating in Poland.

At the end of the visit, the delegation participated in “Uzbekistan: A Digital Step Towards the Future,” an event organized in collaboration with the “Varsovia” University of Business and Applied Sciences and the Embassy of Uzbekistan.

The program featured a presentation on IT Park, outlining its opportunities and advantages for member companies, followed by a panel discussion where delegation members addressed questions from attendees.

Visit to Hungary and Hosting the Uzbekistan Outsourcing Conference

During their time in Budapest, the delegation engaged in significant meetings with Graphisoft and Shiwaforce.

Graphisoft indicated a desire to enter the Uzbek market, highlighting that its international expansion strategy is based on forming partnerships with local firms. The company plans to continue discussions and explore potential collaborations with stakeholders in the Uzbek IT sector.

Graphisoft is recognized as a global leader in architectural software and is the developer of ArchiCAD, offering solutions to professional design and architecture firms around the world.

Shiwaforce, a part of Central Europe’s largest financial group, OTP Group, is already successfully operating in Uzbekistan, where its team of developers is working on AI solutions for the banking industry. Company representatives expressed interest in joining IT Park and acquiring member status.

Shiwaforce is a technology firm within OTP Group, delivering IT solutions to banks and fintech companies throughout Central Europe.

A highlight of the Hungarian segment of the visit was the Uzbekistan Outsourcing Conference, organized with the support of the 4iG Group and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Hungary. This event attracted 75 participants from 55 companies, including TeleDirect BPO, Nagarro, IDBC Group, RED Recruitment, Microsoft Hungary, and Shiwaforce. The conference served as a venue for showcasing the successful initiatives of IT Park.

Notably, Benjamin Deniazar, CEO of OSIRIS, shared the company’s favorable experience in establishing development operations in Uzbekistan, while Viktoriya Kuznetsova, Executive Director of Uzinfocom, illustrated Uzbekistan’s potential through examples of significant digital transformation projects.

The UOC in Budapest facilitated an open dialogue between Hungarian businesses and representatives from Uzbekistan’s IT sector. The event generated substantial interest, with over ten companies expressing a desire to further investigate the Uzbek market and collaboration opportunities via IT Park.

The working visit of IT Park Uzbekistan to Europe highlighted that firms from Slovenia, Poland, and Hungary exhibit considerable interest in partnerships in the information technology domain.

Engagements with technology firms, involvement in industry events, and the hosting of the Uzbekistan Outsourcing Conference have reinforced business relationships and affirmed Uzbekistan's emerging status as a competitive IT hub in Europe. The agreements established are anticipated to lead to actionable initiatives in the upcoming months, bolstering international collaborations and fostering the growth of the national IT ecosystem.
