Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan meets with MIT Kuo Sharper Center Representative to discuss potential collaboration

A delegation from the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, headed by Minister Sherzod Shermatov, along with representatives from IT Park Uzbekistan led by CEO Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, convened a meeting with Shamil Ibragimov, Scholar in Residence at the MIT Kuo Sharper Center for Prosperity and Entrepreneurship.

The discussions centered on potential collaboration to bolster Uzbekistan’s ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing its digital and innovation ecosystem. The dialogue broadly addressed themes of innovation-driven growth, building entrepreneurial capacity, and opportunities for mutual learning between Uzbekistan and the MIT Kuo Sharper Center.

Shamil Ibragimov remarked: “Uzbekistan has made remarkable progress in building a dynamic digital economy. We were pleased to explore opportunities for shared learning and potential collaboration aimed at supporting the country’s innovation ecosystem. We look forward to continuing the dialogue and identifying ways the MIT Kuo Sharper Center can contribute to this important journey.”

The MIT Kuo Sharper Center has previously conducted programs such as the MIT Tech Leaders Lab for digital leaders from Uzbekistan, aimed at enhancing leadership skills within the Ministry of Digital Technologies, IT Park Uzbekistan, and associated organizations. The Center also took part in ICT Week 2025 and related events, furthering its involvement with Uzbekistan’s developing IT ecosystem.
