
Meeting with compatriots from Uzbekistan held in Sydney
During his working visit to Australia, Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov convened a meeting with members of the Uzbek diaspora in Sydney. This gathering offered an in-depth overview of the ongoing digital reforms in Uzbekistan, the current status and future outlook of the IT sector, and the opportunities being generated through IT Park Uzbekistan.
The meeting also included the presentation of IT Park Uzbekistan’s strategy for 2025–2030. This document emphasizes the ongoing development of the national innovation ecosystem, the enhancement of international collaboration, and the establishment of a conducive business environment for both local and foreign professionals. Additionally, the discussion covered strategies for involving compatriots living abroad in the advancement of the national IT sector, as well as effectively utilizing their scientific knowledge and practical skills.
Over thirty attendees participated in the event, including IT professionals with significant experience in various domains, along with startup founders and entrepreneurs. Several participants showed interest in collaborating with IT Park and expressed their willingness to apply the knowledge acquired abroad to implement digital projects within the country.
The discussions also included proposals aimed at enhancing engagement with compatriots and integrating their expertise into the development of the national economy. It was emphasized that organizing such meetings regularly and establishing sustainable platforms for ongoing dialogue with Uzbeks living abroad is of great significance.
