Meeting held in Tokyo with Uzbek compatriots and startup founders

During the visit to Japan, Uzbekistan's Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, along with the CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan, Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, convened a meeting with Uzbek nationals engaged in the information technology sector and startup development in Japan. The discussion centered on the advancement of Uzbekistan's digital economy, the future of startups and IT professionals, and the enhancement of collaboration with the Uzbek diaspora overseas.

The Minister of Digital Technologies outlined the current status and growth trajectory of Uzbekistan's startup ecosystem, emphasizing the key achievements of national digital reforms. He particularly noted the rising volume of startup investments, the proliferation of international acceleration programs, and the strengthening of the country's position within the global technological arena.

“Today, Uzbekistan is actively integrating into the global startup ecosystem. We are witnessing substantial interest from international investors and partners, and we anticipate that our compatriots abroad will serve as a bridge between Uzbekistan and global markets,” remarked Sherzod Shermatov, the Minister of Digital Technologies.

A specific portion of the meeting was dedicated to the opportunities offered by IT Park Uzbekistan for compatriots working internationally. The CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan elaborated on the available tax incentives, acceleration programs, support initiatives for startups, and soft-landing mechanisms for businesses considering Uzbekistan as a base for their operations and engineering teams.

“We have established an ecosystem that enables founders and entrepreneurs to launch and scale businesses with minimal barriers. For compatriots based in Japan, Uzbekistan can serve as an operational and engineering platform that integrates access to talent, competitive conditions, and state support,” highlighted Abdulakhad Kuchkarov.

The event saw participation from over twenty Uzbek professionals and startup founders linked to prominent international companies and technological projects in Japan. Attendees discussed practical matters related to entering the Japanese market, attracting investments, and exploring potential collaboration formats.
