LINAGORA is considering localizing part of its development operations in Uzbekistan

The discussions primarily focused on the potential of moving certain LINAGORA development operations to Uzbekistan and positioning the country as a regional hub for the company's software development and delivery to Central Asian and CIS markets. This collaboration could serve as a practical example of attracting a French technology firm to Uzbekistan and generating new high-tech employment opportunities.

During the meeting, IT Park Uzbekistan showcased the country's ability to host international development teams, emphasizing its talent base, cost-effective structure, and the ecosystem of IT Park Uzbekistan resident companies. The parties also explored the support available to LINAGORA and the advantages of securing resident status to establish its operations in Uzbekistan.

Particular emphasis was placed on the joint development of solutions in the areas of digital sovereignty and open-source software. The discussion included the potential deployment of LINAGORA products—such as Twake Workplace, LinShare, and other open-source solutions—in Uzbekistan's public and private sectors. This initiative is in line with the increasing demand for technological solutions that enable organizations to exert greater control over their data and digital infrastructure.

Artificial intelligence was another area of potential collaboration. Representatives from IT Park Uzbekistan and LINAGORA discussed the company's involvement in the OpenLLM Europe initiative and the possibility of applying open and auditable AI models, including LUCIE, to support the development of Uzbekistan's AI ecosystem.

LINAGORA is a French open-source software developer established in 2000. The company specializes in digital sovereignty and is promoting its own concept of a "third digital way"—an alternative technological approach based on the principles of openness, ethics, inclusivity, and sustainable development. LINAGORA collaborates with public and private organizations and has an international presence in France, Tunisia, Vietnam, and Canada.

The company's solutions include Twake Workplace, which combines tools for corporate communication and collaboration; LinShare for secure file sharing; and OSSA, a technology framework that supports over 500 open-source packages. The company is also part of the European OpenLLM Europe initiative, which aims to develop open and verifiable artificial intelligence models.

Alexandre Zapolsky, founder and president of LINAGORA, launched the company in 2000 while still a student and has since become one of the most influential figures in the French open-source community. He has served on the National Digital Council, leads the National Federation of Free Software and the General Assembly of Open Source, and is a member of various professional and business organizations in France.

A potential partnership with LINAGORA could involve multiple areas simultaneously, including the transfer of part of its development operations and the establishment of a regional hub in Uzbekistan, as well as the implementation of open-source solutions and the advancement of open artificial intelligence technologies.
