The Ministry of Digital Technologies and IT Park Uzbekistan have entered into a memorandum of understanding with the global innovation platform Plug and Play Tech Center. The Uzbek delegation was headed by Olimjon Umarov, First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies, alongside Elyor Maksudov, Startup and Investment Development Director of IT Park Uzbekistan. The Plug and Play Tech Center was represented by Amir Amid Khozoor, Reza Bakhadi, Anastasia Brovkina, and Yui Koda from the Plug and Play GOAL team.

According to the agreement, the parties have pledged to extend their partnership for an additional three years, focusing on advancing joint acceleration programs and enhancing collaboration in the innovation sector.

Plug and Play Tech Center ranks among the foremost platforms for open innovation globally. Its ecosystem comprises over 100,000 startups and 600 corporate partners, supported by a network of more than 65 offices worldwide and over 880 employees. Annually, the company invests in roughly 250 startups, with its portfolio currently featuring over 35 unicorns. In 2024 alone, Plug and Play facilitated the growth of more than 2,200 startups across various countries.

During the meeting, representatives from Plug and Play Tech Center introduced the development of the AI Center of Excellence, a project aimed at uniting companies, universities, and government institutions to promote advancements in artificial intelligence technologies. Discussions centered on the execution of joint acceleration programs, the training of AI specialists, and the initiation of new projects in Uzbekistan in partnership with international investors and collaborators.

The signing of the memorandum signifies a significant milestone in bolstering bilateral cooperation. For IT Park Uzbekistan, it opens doors to a global network of innovation and investment, thereby expediting the growth of the national startup ecosystem and strengthening the country’s standing on the global technology landscape.
