
IT Park Uzbekistan and Ori Group initiated joint projects
Representatives from IT Park Uzbekistan, led by Makhliyo Muksinova, the Services Export Development Director, convened with a Chinese delegation from Ori Group, which was headed by Feng Qian, the Chairman of the Board of Directors. The delegation included Samantha Lu, the Head of the International Relations Department, and Djavlon Kamalov, the Director of PROART. The discussions focused on the potential for launching digital and gaming projects, enhancing educational initiatives, and attracting Chinese technologies and investments to Uzbekistan.
Founded in 2006, Ori Group is one of China’s foremost companies in the creative industries. Its ecosystem includes animation, film and television, gaming and esports, as well as international educational programs, projects for cultural heritage preservation, fashion, and cultural tourism. Currently, Ori Group collaborates with over 70 countries globally, fostering sustainable international partnerships and actively participating in global industry events.
In 2024, the company entered into an agreement to establish a gaming platform and ecosystem in Saudi Arabia, committing $100 million in investments and planning to expand its workforce to 300 specialists within three years, with an aim to achieve projected revenues of $1 billion within five years. Additionally, Ori Group has invested $200 million in infrastructure development in the UAE, exports gaming content valued at $60 million annually, engages in cultural and educational projects with partners throughout the Middle East, and pursues initiatives in Africa to promote digital cultural industries on a worldwide scale.
During the meeting, significant emphasis was placed on education. Both parties expressed a willingness to investigate new educational initiatives, including short-term intensive programs, knowledge exchange, and internships in IT, animation, and game development.
IT Park representatives also showcased the organization’s activities, particularly highlighting projects within the gaming sector. The Chinese delegation exhibited a keen interest in the opportunities for establishing companies in Uzbekistan, seeking details regarding infrastructure, business conditions, recruitment processes, member support programs, and talent acquisition strategies.
Furthermore, Ori Group conveyed interest in locally developed games and in facilitating their entry into the global market, starting with the MENA region.
Makhliyo Muksinova, the Services Export Development Director of IT Park, presented a comprehensive overview of the opportunities available, which included the One Stop Shop service, the IT Visa program, and various other support initiatives. She also suggested improving collaboration in IT education.
Another significant point discussed during the meeting was the establishment of offices and the execution of joint projects in the game development sector.
Partnering with Ori Group will bolster IT Park Uzbekistan's standing within the creative economy and gaming industry, facilitate access to a broad international network of partners, expedite talent development through collaborative educational programs, and enhance the export of creative IT services.
