IT Park Uzbekistan and Chinese delegation reached agreement on cooperation in the field of Innovation

Representatives from IT Park Uzbekistan, led by CEO Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, convened with a delegation from Hefei, Anhui Province, in a meeting organized in collaboration with the Khan Tengri Innovation Hub. The Chinese delegation was headed by Zhang Liye, Vice President of the Grand Union of Innovation. Following their discussions, both parties reached an agreement to cooperate and support Chinese firms looking to enter the Central Asian market.

The Grand Union of Innovation (GUi) is an innovation ecosystem that was established in 2022 in Hefei, Anhui, China. Currently, it encompasses over 6,000 technology companies and 60,000 specialists, oversees 1,725 new tech projects, and operates a network of 13 innovation centers globally. GUi focuses on advancing technological fields such as IT, biomedicine, new energy, and smart manufacturing solutions, while also promoting international initiatives aimed at enhancing the growth of technology firms.

During the meeting, IT Park Uzbekistan representatives highlighted the primary areas of the technopark’s operations, ongoing initiatives, and current projects being executed in partnership with Chinese collaborators. They also provided insights into the development of Uzbekistan’s IT ecosystem, its export potential, educational initiatives, and tools designed to support businesses.

The Chinese delegation shared information about GUi's activities, the opportunities available in Hefei, and the companies within the group. The discussions included potential collaboration in the digitalization of education, the development of data centers, and the establishment of research and R&D centers.

GUi representatives underscored that the organization operates a network of 13 international innovation hubs and actively assists technology companies in penetrating foreign markets. Uzbekistan was identified as a promising location for further collaboration and the execution of joint technological projects.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation and facilitating the entry of Chinese companies into the Central Asian market. IT Park Uzbekistan expressed its willingness to support these initiatives by providing infrastructure, advisory services, and assistance through its existing programs.

The partnership with one of China's largest innovation ecosystems presents new opportunities for attracting technology companies, executing joint R&D initiatives, and expanding IT Park’s international partner network.

This collaboration will expedite the growth of Uzbekistan’s IT market, draw in new investments, and enhance the nation’s status as a regional center for technology and innovation.
