IT Park and the Korea ICT Entrepreneurs Association discussed prospects for enhanced cooperation
Representatives from IT Park Uzbekistan, led by Elyor Maksudov, the Startup and Investment Development Director, convened with a delegation from the Korea ICT Entrepreneurs Association, which was headed by Lee Seong Hwan, the Association's Chairman, and Kim Chang Keon, the Chairman of the Korea–Uzbekistan Business Association. The two parties reached an agreement to enhance their collaborative efforts, which will include organizing joint seminars and expert sessions, facilitating partner matchmaking among association members, and providing support for business missions and pilot projects between companies from both nations.
The Korea ICT Entrepreneurs Association (K-ICT Entrepreneurs Association) is a non-profit organization based in South Korea that focuses on fostering the ICT ecosystem. The association organizes technical seminars and expert meetings, maintains a detailed database of participants and their competencies, and operates an online platform for the exchange of projects, technologies, and resources. Currently, it comprises around 400 companies. With its headquarters located in Asan, the association primarily concentrates on the Chungnam region while partnering with various institutions to promote industry initiatives both domestically and internationally.
During the meeting, the Association's representatives expressed their plans to establish a limited liability company in Uzbekistan dedicated to the software development of their smart robotics products and reiterated their commitment to positioning Uzbekistan as a prime location for business expansion and outsourcing. In response, IT Park suggested organizing joint forums for Korean startups in Uzbekistan and for Uzbek companies in Korea, as well as establishing a consistent exchange of expertise.
The collaboration with the K-ICT Entrepreneurs Association offers IT Park Uzbekistan direct access to the Korean ICT business community, aids in the initiation of joint pilot projects and business missions, and enhances the export capabilities of its members. The anticipated establishment of a software development firm in Uzbekistan for smart robotics, coupled with joint forums in both nations, is expected to attract new partners and further solidify Uzbekistan’s role as a hub for digital services in the Asian and European markets.
