Google Gemini officially introduces the Uzbek language on its AI platform

The panel session addressed the global trajectory of AI development, best practices for the integration of AI technologies into public administration, innovative methodologies, and future-oriented strategies.

Speakers examined the societal implications of artificial intelligence, safety and data privacy concerns, the necessity of high-quality datasets for AI models, and the emergence of new forms of international collaboration.

During the panel session titled “Leading in the Age of AI: Strategy and Innovation,” which took place in Tashkent, a noteworthy announcement was made. Marina Zhunich, Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy at Google Cloud, revealed that the Google Gemini platform now officially supports the Uzbek language.

This advancement marks a significant milestone in the progression of digital technologies and the AI ecosystem in Uzbekistan, allowing local experts, entrepreneurs, and the general populace to access contemporary AI solutions in their native language.

Ruslan Salakhutdinov emphasized the latest scientific developments in AI research, pointing out that ensuring model efficiency and adherence to ethical standards is among the most pressing priorities today. H.E. Khalfan Belhoul highlighted that artificial intelligence is central to Dubai’s innovation agenda, fundamentally reshaping city management, transportation, healthcare, and security systems. Google Cloud representative Marina Zhunich shared her insights on state policy and technology integration, presenting global practices regarding AI governance in the public sector, risk management, and the protection of digital sovereignty.

The discussion also focused on Uzbekistan’s accomplishments in digital transformation and the extensive initiatives underway to cultivate a strong national AI ecosystem.

Minister Sherzod Shermatov remarked on the growth of IT education, the establishment of a modern technological environment for youth, the swift development of data centers and digital infrastructure, and the increasing implementation of AI-driven automation in public services. He also provided comprehensive insights into responsible AI governance, ethical standards, and alignment with international norms.

Experts characterized the panel session as one of the most important AI dialogue platforms not just in the region but throughout Central Asia. They highlighted that Uzbekistan is actively engaging in global AI developments and is receiving international acknowledgment for its innovative initiatives.
