Representatives from IT Park Uzbekistan, headed by Makhliyo Muksinova, Services Export Development Director, convened with Matthew Howell, CEO of Nexia International, who was visiting Central Asia for the first time. Azizbek Akhmedov, Managing Partner of Nexia Uzbekistan, also participated in the meeting. The discussions centered on potential collaboration areas, including Nexia’s involvement within the IT Park ecosystem and the creation of joint initiatives in consulting and IT business support.

Nexia International, a global network of independent audit and consulting firms founded in 1991 and based in London, comprises over 20,000 professionals across 120 countries, ranking among the top ten largest international associations worldwide. Member firms of Nexia offer a wide array of services, such as auditing, accounting, taxation, business consulting, and legal advisory, blending extensive local knowledge with a robust global footprint.

During the meeting, the participants examined options for providing consulting support to IT companies, international tax planning, and the potential for the local office to deliver services to Nexia International’s worldwide clientele. They also deliberated on possible joint projects within the IT Park ecosystem, including expert sessions and practical support for companies seeking to enter foreign markets.

On October 9, the Nexia Caucasus & Central Asian Firms Conference took place in Tashkent, where IT Park Uzbekistan showcased its ecosystem and key initiatives. The panel discussion included Matthew Howell (CEO, Nexia International), Elyor Maksudov (Startup and Investment Development Director, IT Park Uzbekistan), and Alijon Ravshanov (Partner, Sturgeon Capital). The conversation revolved around three main themes: opportunities in Uzbekistan, challenges faced by foreign investors, and future outlooks for the region.

Elyor Maksudov, Startup and Investment Development Director of IT Park Uzbekistan, detailed the mechanisms that support startups and IT service exports. He provided insights into tax incentives for member companies, acceleration and investment attraction programs, and opportunities for international partners to initiate pilot projects and expand into global markets via the IT Park platform.

The deepening of collaboration with Nexia International provides IT Park Uzbekistan with access to top-tier expertise in auditing, taxation, and consulting. This partnership also bolsters support for the export of IT outsourcing services and facilitates a more efficient and secure entry for members into international markets. Additionally, this alliance boosts Uzbekistan’s attractiveness for investment and strengthens IT Park’s position as a regional center for innovation and technological entrepreneurship.
