Germany and Uzbekistan strengthen cooperation in the ICT sector

Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies Rustam Karimjonov and CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan Abdulakhad Kuchkarov convened a meeting with a European business delegation consisting of 32 representatives from 20 German and European companies and organizations. The delegation was headed by Michael Harms, Managing Director of the German Eastern Business Association.

The purpose of the visit was to explore collaborative opportunities within the ICT sector, with both parties demonstrating their willingness to enhance their partnership and promote joint initiatives. Notable companies represented in the delegation included DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH, Crowe TAC, 4iG, and Telc GmbH, among others.

During the discussions, the attendees focused on strengthening the collaboration between IT Park Uzbekistan and the German Eastern Business Association, expanding bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Germany, and identifying new areas for future collaboration. The delegation emphasized the necessity of further developing partnerships between Europe and Uzbekistan in the ICT domain.

The German Eastern Business Association (Ost-Ausschuss der Deutschen Wirtschaft) serves as one of Europe’s key platforms for promoting international cooperation, bringing together leading companies from Germany and the European Union. The Committee advocates for the enhancement of economic relations, business engagement, and the advancement of strategic projects across Central and Eastern European markets.

Additionally, a presentation was arranged for the delegation at IT Park Uzbekistan, where attendees were familiarized with the national IT ecosystem, government support initiatives, technological infrastructure, and opportunities for establishing offices and R&D centers in Uzbekistan. Participants engaged with representatives from prominent IT Park member companies—Uzinfocom, EPAM Systems, and Realsoft—allowing the delegation to observe practical instances of IT sector growth in the country and to share expertise.

Delegation members acknowledged the considerable potential of the Uzbek market, the presence of skilled talent, and the rapid advancement of local digital infrastructure. Several companies expressed interest in forming partnerships, developing joint projects, and further investigating the Uzbek market.

The meetings enhanced the global standing of IT Park Uzbekistan and created new avenues for drawing European investment, promoting technology transfer, and broadening the export landscape of Uzbekistan’s IT services. The arrival of the German delegation represented a significant advancement in fostering collaboration between Uzbekistan and Europe in the crucial area of digital development.
