
Delegation of Uzbekistan participated in INMerge Innovation Summit in Baku
A delegation from the Ministry of Digital Technologies and IT Park Uzbekistan took part in the international innovation event, the INMerge Innovation Summit, which took place in Baku. The Uzbek delegation comprised Makhmud Giyasov, Head of the Regional Department of the Ministry of Digital Technologies for the Jizzakh Region; Khojiakbar Bobozhonov, Head of IT Park’s Khorezm branch; and Adham Abdullaev, Head of IT Park’s Jizzakh branch.
During the summit, the delegation conducted a series of meetings with local IT firms, including MuleSoft, Caspian Soft Technologies, Softgile, Joint Logic Technologies, Sergek Group, Seculayer, Dapti, Bomensoft, and Competo LLC, and engaged in fruitful discussions with Georgian business consultant Iya Dreidze. The discussions focused on potential collaboration in the IT and BPO sectors, sharing insights on startup development, and expressing a shared interest in advancing joint projects in the realm of information technologies.
Additionally, the delegation toured the offices of prominent IT companies in Baku, such as ITB Techo, MarLab Growth Agency, Crocusoft, and Inlab LLC. Following these visits, the parties established several preliminary agreements, which included the establishment of representative offices for Azerbaijani IT companies in Uzbekistan, the initiation of joint initiatives, the organization of staff exchange and internship programs for specialists from both nations, and the execution of collaborative projects between startups and technology parks. The discussions also encompassed the creation of a practical roadmap aimed at enhancing investment and export potential. Moreover, agreements were reached regarding the export of Azerbaijani products from Uzbekistan to Central Asian markets following the establishment of their representative offices.
Participation in the INMerge Innovation Summit marked a significant advancement in promoting Uzbekistan’s IT ecosystem on the global stage. The meetings played a crucial role in strengthening bilateral partnerships between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, attracting foreign investment, and encouraging job creation. Looking ahead, both parties plan to implement joint programs, formalize official agreements, and initiate new projects in the fields of innovation and digital technologies.
