During the visit of the delegation from the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan and IT Park Uzbekistan to the United States, a roundtable discussion took place focused on enhancing international collaboration in digital technologies and innovation.

This event was organized in Washington, D.C. by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Ministry of Digital Technologies, and IT Park Uzbekistan. Jennifer Miel, Vice President for Central Asia and the Middle East at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, served as the moderator.

The Uzbek delegation included Sherzod Shermatov, Minister of Digital Technologies; Farkhod Ibragimov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of IT Park Uzbekistan; and Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan.

The roundtable attracted 28 participants, comprising representatives from 19 prominent international companies, including Google, Meta, Palo Alto Networks, Mastercard, Oracle, Salesforce, Citi, Supermicro, Nexttracker, Playground Global, 500 Global, Vertiv, Mayer Brown, FINN Partners, Synergy International Systems, Axiom Space, Docra, Freedom Holding, and ZELH.

Key discussion points included data localization and protection, improving Uzbekistan’s investment appeal, forming an advisory group under the Ministry of Digital Technologies with U.S. business representatives, and promoting the Enterprise Uzbekistan initiative — a vital mechanism for drawing in major international IT services companies.

Participants acknowledged that Uzbekistan has made notable strides in developing a modern digital ecosystem in recent years. Regional branches of IT Park Uzbekistan have been established nationwide, favorable business conditions have been introduced, and numerous international firms have entered the market. However, the next phase of development hinges on attracting global technology leaders (hyperscalers), which will rely on the adoption of international standards in infrastructure development, legal regulation, and data security.

The establishment of Enterprise Uzbekistan will lay a robust foundation for this next phase — a platform designed to ensure transparency, technological infrastructure, and trust, allowing the world’s leading IT corporations to operate in Uzbekistan with assurance.

Uzbekistan is increasingly recognized as a promising technological hub in Eurasia.

Participants in the discussion highlighted the country's considerable potential for investment in data center construction, the growth of IT service exports, and the enhancement of the US market's position as a primary destination for member companies of IT Park Uzbekistan.

After the roundtable, the involved parties conveyed their willingness to create cooperation roadmaps for each sector — ranging from the deployment of AI-driven solutions to the marketing of Uzbek IT products in international markets.

The event held in Washington represented a significant milestone in bolstering bilateral technological relations between Uzbekistan and the United States, ushering in a new phase in the advancement of digital partnership and international integration.
