The Senate has approved the Constitutional Law on the International Digital Technology Center

The Constitutional Law, grounded in the principles of English law, establishes the legal framework for the International Digital Technology Center "Enterprise Uzbekistan," which operates within the IT Park Uzbekistan. Under the law, responsibilities directly under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan — including the organization and operation of the Center, boundary adjustments, strategic governance, and the appointment of key personnel — are executed through presidential decrees and resolutions. A flexible tax and customs regime, tax incentives for specific activities, and a simplified process for importing equipment, technology, and materials are also planned. The law also outlines support mechanisms for participants in the Center, including a single window for registration and administration, as well as protections for intellectual property and investments. The Center's operations are expected to provide a strong foundation for increasing the country's digital services exports to $5 billion by 2030, generating over 300,000 new high-paying jobs in the economy, and allowing many talented young people to earn world-class salaries within the country. The law's adoption will establish a legal basis for ensuring the property and intellectual property rights of foreign investors at international standards, enabling major global tech companies such as Apple, Google, Microsoft, and Amazon to enter the market directly. According to senators, the Constitutional Law will contribute to increasing the IT sector's share of GDP, boosting foreign direct investment in the digital sector, creating new jobs in digital technology, and expanding the volume of IT services exports. Following the discussion, the Law was approved by the senators.
