Teams from Uzbekistan demonstrated high results in the ICPC NERC semifinals

Student teams from Uzbekistan excelled at the ICPC NERC, a highly esteemed and competitive segment of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC). Representatives from the nation’s top universities earned diplomas of various levels, showcasing their exceptional skills on the global stage.

The ICPC NERC (North Eurasian Regional Contest) acts as the semifinal for the ICPC and is the main regional competition for countries in North Eurasia. During this phase, teams vie for a chance to qualify for the World Finals. This year, around 341 teams from the leading universities in the region participated, establishing the ICPC NERC as one of the most rigorous and competitive contests worldwide.

In 2025, Uzbekistan was represented at the ICPC NERC semifinals by 20 teams from its premier universities. The preparation of the national teams was coordinated by IT Park Uzbekistan in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Technologies and IT Park University, with the assistance of both international and local coaches. The training involved experts from the Tashkent Branch of Lomonosov Moscow State University, Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi, and New Uzbekistan University.

Beyond preparation, IT Park Uzbekistan facilitated the participation of nine of the strongest teams from Uzbekistan, allowing students to attend the ICPC NERC semifinals in person and represent their country with pride on the international stage.

The top achievement among the Uzbek teams was accomplished by the team from Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi, which included Azizbek Marufjonov, Davlatbek Mirokilov, and Shokhrukh Rakhmatillaev. This team solved 7 problems, earning a first-degree diploma and achieving the highest score among all teams from Uzbekistan.

Second-degree diplomas were awarded to teams that successfully solved 6 problems. These included:

The team Starborn from Bukhara State University, composed of Javokhirbek Mukhtorov, Akhmadjon Amonov, and Aminjon Amonov, solved 5 problems and received a third-degree diploma.

Additionally, it is worth mentioning that the first team from Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi secured 3rd place in Central Asia, surpassing numerous strong universities from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.

This accomplishment ranks among the top results for the Uzbekistan national team in recent years.
