Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan Visit Artificial Intelligence Hackathon

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, attended the nationwide “National AI Hackathon” at the universal sports complex in Bukhara.

This event is part of a larger initiative to foster the artificial intelligence ecosystem in Uzbekistan, a project spearheaded by the head of state.

The leaders were presented with the outcomes of ongoing digitalization initiatives and the integration of AI technologies. They observed key aspects of digital transformation, including the Digital Government system, along with advancements in transport, customs, taxation, healthcare, social protection, energy, geology, construction, and agriculture.

It was highlighted that the thorough digitalization of these sectors enhances the efficiency of public administration and improves the quality of life.

Additionally, a presentation on the startup support ecosystem in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan took place. The presidents engaged with representatives from promising startup projects such as KPI-COM, OSON, and DATOX.

They were also updated on the operations of national and international accelerators, including UZUM, TBC Bank, Aloqa Bank, HUMO, and UZCARD.

The significance of advancing venture infrastructure and fostering youth entrepreneurship was underscored.

Particular attention was given to the accomplishments within the banking sector, including the evolution of digital banking and contemporary payment solutions.

During an open dialogue, the high level of youth participation, their innovative mindset, and their enthusiasm for applying artificial intelligence technologies in real-world scenarios were emphasized.

At the conclusion of the visit, the presidents took a joint commemorative photo with hackathon participants and members of the startup community.
