A contemporary data center, powered by renewable energy and incorporating cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies, is set to be developed in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

This initiative will be executed under a framework investment agreement worth $130.9 million, which has been signed between the Supreme Council of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the firms Guorui Group (China) and Supermicro (Taiwan).

The meeting included representatives from IT Park Uzbekistan and its branch in Karakalpakstan, who acted as project coordinators and facilitated communication among the involved parties.

This project is in accordance with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which established a special regime for the Republic of Karakalpakstan to encourage investment in artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure. Under this resolution, companies investing over $100 million in data center construction qualify for incentives from IT Park Uzbekistan, including customs duty exemptions on imported equipment and a special electricity rate of $0.05 per kilowatt-hour.

Representatives from IT Park Uzbekistan have indicated that the conditions set by the President are already producing positive outcomes: international technology firms are increasingly investing in Uzbekistan, perceiving it as a dependable location for implementing energy-efficient and innovative AI-driven initiatives.

All participating companies are part of Guorui Group, a prominent international holding that specializes in the construction and operation of data centers for artificial intelligence applications. The holding collaborates closely with the U.S.-based corporation Supermicro and develops projects that are entirely powered by renewable energy sources. Its network includes subsidiaries in Taiwan, India, and the Philippines.

During the discussions, Guorui Group representatives introduced the All-Green AI Compute Center, the first AI infrastructure project in Taiwan that is completely powered by renewable energy. Similar facilities are currently being constructed in Guam, and the company intends to extend its operations to Central Asia in the near future. According to company representatives, Uzbekistan's strategic geographic location and substantial potential position it to become a regional hub for data processing and AI computing infrastructure.

The delegation, accompanied by representatives from IT Park Uzbekistan, also toured the project site located in the Takhiatash district, where the construction of the facility is set to take place. During the visit, the parties engaged in discussions regarding opportunities for knowledge sharing in energy-efficient technologies, the execution of collaborative research initiatives, and the implementation of Direct Liquid Cooling 2 systems aimed at significantly lowering energy consumption in data centers.

IT Park Uzbekistan representatives affirmed their complete readiness to support the project, offering assistance ranging from legal and administrative facilitation to the recruitment of skilled local IT professionals.

The joint project between Guorui Group and Supermicro will mark a significant advancement in enhancing Uzbekistan's digital infrastructure, attracting foreign investments, and generating new job opportunities. This initiative will further reinforce the country's status as a pivotal innovation and technology hub in Central Asia.
