IT Park Uzbekistan expands strategic partnerships in Hong Kong to accelerate technology exports and international collaboration

A significant aspect of the visit involved discussions with the leadership of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, led by Sophia Chong, the Executive Director of the organization. HKTDC serves as one of Hong Kong's primary international trade development entities, assisting start-ups and small enterprises in accessing global markets.

During the presentation, IT Park Uzbekistan also showcased the Enterprise Uzbekistan initiative to international partners — the International Digital Technology Centre (IDTC), a technology jurisdiction for global tech businesses founded on principles of English and Welsh common law.

This initiative aims to provide international investors and businesses, including those from Hong Kong, with familiar legal frameworks, robust investment protection, and a conducive environment for business operations.

In the course of the meeting, the parties reached an agreement to further enhance cooperation, which includes the involvement of Hong Kong companies in ICT Week Uzbekistan, as well as exploring opportunities for collaborative engagement at the Belt and Road Summit and participation in InnoEX 2027. Additionally, discussions were held regarding the expansion of support programs for start-ups, business missions, and initiatives aimed at promoting Uzbek technology firms internationally through the global HKTDC network. The possibility of arranging a visit to Uzbekistan for a delegation from Hong Kong's legal and professional community was also contemplated.

Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to elevate cooperation, concentrating on the execution of joint projects, fostering investment interactions, supporting innovative entrepreneurship, and enhancing the international footprint of Uzbekistan's technological ecosystem.

Moreover, a pivotal event during the visit was a meeting with members of the Hong Kong business community, organized with the assistance of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). This gathering included representatives from the HK Fintech Association, Gobi Partners, The University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong PropTech Association (HKPTA), Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, among other organizations, who participated in the discussions.

The parties shared insights on developing innovation ecosystems and explored collaboration opportunities in fintech, venture investments, artificial intelligence, PropTech, and the commercialization of university innovations, as well as the potential for Uzbek startups to enter Asian markets.

Simultaneously, the delegation from IT Park Uzbekistan engaged in discussions with Gameloft, a prominent global developer and publisher of mobile games, which is part of the Vivendi group. The company, boasting over 4,000 employees and more than 50 launched gaming projects, indicated its willingness to explore licensing its gaming intellectual property and collaborating with IT Park to promote gaming products in the CIS markets. The parties assessed the potential for licensing game franchises and the conditions for publishing cooperation.

Significant focus was placed on the meeting with HKBN Enterprise Solutions, where the discussion revolved around implementing artificial intelligence solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises, automating business processes, enhancing digital customer interactions, boosting productivity, and integrating cybersecurity measures.

The meeting underscored the mutual interest of the parties in establishing a practical cooperation framework that would link the technological ecosystems of Uzbekistan, Hong Kong, mainland China, and Central Asian nations.

A series of meetings in Hong Kong marked a crucial advancement in strengthening IT Park Uzbekistan’s partnerships with key players in the Asian technology sector and in creating new avenues for exporting digital solutions, attracting investments, and integrating Uzbek companies into the global innovation ecosystem.
