IT Park Uzbekistan Expands Innovation Ties with Georgia

On July 1, 2026, the Uzbekistan–Georgia Business Forum took place in Tbilisi, aimed at enhancing trade, economic, investment, and industrial collaboration between the two nations. This event gathered government representatives, financial institutions, and business leaders from both Uzbekistan and Georgia, creating an opportunity to investigate new avenues for bilateral partnerships.

Digital services were identified as a primary focus of the forum. With the robust growth of IT exports in both countries, discussions centered on broadening cooperation in areas such as fintech, e-commerce, artificial intelligence, BPO services, and the digitalization of trade and logistics. Concurrently, IT Park Uzbekistan conducted a series of bilateral meetings aimed at fortifying startup ecosystems, attracting venture capital, supporting the global expansion of tech companies, and enhancing innovation collaboration between Uzbekistan and Georgia.

New Opportunities for Uzbek Startups

A significant meeting took place with Irakli Kashibadze, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Future Laboratory, Managing Partner of Future Laboratory Ventures, and the founding Chairman of Georgia's Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA).

The talks concentrated on reinforcing cooperation between the startup ecosystems of Uzbekistan and Georgia, as well as advocating for the Land of Startups initiative among Georgian entrepreneurs and participants in accelerator programs.

Special emphasis was placed on sharing knowledge regarding the preparation of startups for international growth, which included aspects such as investor readiness, go-to-market strategies, intellectual property (IP) protection, legal assistance, and access to global venture capital networks.

The participants also examined ways to utilize Future Laboratory's expertise in facilitating startups' entry into the U.S. market, organizing joint demo days and investor meetings, and launching additional initiatives designed to strengthen connections between the venture ecosystems of Uzbekistan and Georgia.

Another topic of discussion revolved around collaboration in developing startup support infrastructure, acceleration programs, and the overall innovation ecosystem.

Expanding International Partnerships

The IT Park Uzbekistan delegation also engaged with Nodo Ivanidze, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Global Tech Weekend.

The parties engaged in discussions about broadening their partnership after the successful Global Tech Weekend that took place in Tashkent, which included exploring the opportunity to host Global Tech Weekend 2027 in Uzbekistan.

Moreover, the conversations centered on incorporating Uzbek startups into the Global Tech Weekend international network, enhancing their relationships with investors, mentors, and technology firms, as well as reinforcing collaboration between the innovation ecosystems of Central Asia and the Caucasus.
