New Uzbekistan University is a contemporary institution evolving into a research center with a robust emphasis on both applied and fundamental scientific research. The university features scientific centers and laboratories focused on artificial intelligence and is actively enhancing its high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure, which is vital for cutting-edge research in AI, data analysis, and engineering sciences. Four laboratories have been established in partnership with Apple, Huawei, MIT, and Yandex. To date, researchers at the university have published over 1,200 scientific papers, showcasing a significant level of academic and research engagement.

The university also offers industry-oriented educational programs, including a Bachelor’s degree in AI and Robotics, a Master’s degree in AI and Machine Learning, and a Master’s degree in AI and Big Data, which is provided in collaboration with Khalifa University.

During the visit to New Uzbekistan University, a working meeting took place with the university’s leadership and representatives from relevant academic departments. The discussions focused on exploring opportunities for student and researcher involvement in practical AI projects, the advancement of applied research, and the establishment of conducive conditions for the growth and scaling of university startups within the national innovation ecosystem. Particular emphasis was placed on scientific collaboration and the transfer of technology from academia to industry.

Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent is an engineering institution with a solid applied foundation and strong connections to the industrial sector. The university educates specialists in engineering, digital technologies, and industrial solutions, while also developing R&D initiatives that address real business and manufacturing challenges. Key industrial partners of the university include UzAuto, BYD, MAN, SamAuto, and other significant manufacturing firms in Uzbekistan.

The university operates five laboratories and research centers: Technopark, Mechatronics Center, Center of Metrology, CAD / CAM / CAE Center, and the Laboratory of the Civil Engineering and Architecture Department.

The university has established partnerships with international higher education institutions. For instance, the Management program is offered in collaboration with Pittsburg State University (USA), allowing eligible students to further their studies in the United States. Additionally, students have opportunities for exchange programs with universities in Poland, Germany, and South Korea.

In a meeting with the leadership of Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, the participants discussed the advancement of engineering and IT education, the potential for initiating joint applied R&D projects, and the university’s role in nurturing talent and enhancing the scientific capacity of the country’s technological ecosystem. It was highlighted that the close integration of education, scientific research, and industry facilitates the training of specialists who are highly sought after in the real sector of the economy.

By strengthening partnerships with leading universities, IT Park Uzbekistan aims to establish a sustainable connection between education, science, and the IT industry, improve applied R&D capabilities, and foster conditions for the long-term development of Uzbekistan’s technological ecosystem.
