IT Park Uzbekistan Delegation Strengthens Ties with Diaspora and Tech Community in the U.S.

During its trip to the United States, the IT Park Uzbekistan delegation conducted a series of meetings with stakeholders from the technology and investment sectors, as well as with members of the Uzbek diaspora and the IT community.

Throughout the visit, the delegation engaged with prominent figures in the U.S. technology and investment arena, including firms such as Spherion, Effectiff, VentureSpan, Venture University, Talos Capital, Cornell Tech, RepStack, and Elpis Labs.

A significant topic of discussion was the enhancement of the venture ecosystem. Specifically, during conversations with Venture University, the parties examined the possibility of initiating accelerator programs aimed at investors, encompassing venture funds and angel investors.

With Cornell Tech, the delegation assessed strategies for broadening innovation hubs and entrepreneurship education, including initiatives for PhD students.

Additionally, representatives from IT Park Uzbekistan participated in a roundtable discussion with Elpis Labs, Empire, and NY Tech Alliance, where they deliberated on strategies for developing tech communities and promoting international collaborations.

A particular emphasis was placed on upcoming initiatives, notably the potential organization of the Uzbek Startup Summit NYC 2026, which aims to unite tech leaders, startups, investors, and diaspora members to establish a sustainable professional network.

RepStack and Effectiff also expressed their interest in collaborating with Uzbekistan, as they are contemplating entering the Uzbek market and connecting with the IT Park Uzbekistan ecosystem.

During an open discussion session, participants showcased their projects and shared experiences. There was notable interest in initiatives that support startups established by Uzbek nationals, particularly in areas such as fundraising and international market entry.

The IT Park Uzbekistan delegation also convened with representatives of the Uzbek diaspora and the U.S. tech community. This event, held at Silkroad Innovation Hub, attracted over 50 attendees, including entrepreneurs, IT professionals, and diaspora leaders from Silicon Valley and other technology hubs.

The primary objective of the meeting was to strengthen connections with compatriots abroad and enhance international collaboration within the IT sector.

Notable speakers included Abdulahad Kuchkarov, Advisor to the CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan, and Asset Abdualiev.

They highlighted the significant role of the diaspora in advancing Uzbekistan as an emerging IT hub and its potential impact on the development of the nation's technology ecosystem.

Representatives from IT Park Uzbekistan also outlined the current strategy and opportunities available for IT companies, startups, and export-oriented teams, emphasizing international partnerships and projects in North America.

Programs designed to engage the diaspora were introduced. One such initiative is the Bonus System, which enables participants to assist in attracting foreign companies to IT Park Uzbekistan in exchange for rewards. Another program, Uzbekistan Connect, aims to establish a network of tech ambassadors to enhance international connections and support startups.

The conversations also addressed the involvement of students and young professionals, the initiation of educational and research collaborations, internships, and the promotion of IT products in global markets.

Following the visit, the parties agreed to further enhance cooperation, including the launch of joint initiatives in investment, education, and startup support. According to IT Park Uzbekistan, the increasing interest from international companies and investors presents new opportunities for integrating the country into the global tech ecosystem.

The delegation will continue its visit by participating in upcoming events in Boston.
