IT Park Uzbekistan and HKSTP Discuss Expanding Cooperation in Startups, AI and R&D
The discussion centered on advancing collaboration between IT Park Uzbekistan and HKSTP, with a focus on supporting technology firms entering new markets, enhancing connections between startup ecosystems, and exploring joint initiatives in artificial intelligence and R&D.
Special emphasis was placed on the participation of four HKSTP startups at ICT WEEK Uzbekistan 2026. During their visit, the companies met with Uzinfocom, Uztelecom, and TUIT. The parties explored further engagement with these startups and ways to support their entry into the Uzbek market.
The meeting also addressed the possibility of organizing visits for Uzbek startups to Hong Kong, allowing them to connect with local companies, explore HKSTP’s technological infrastructure, and exchange experience with participants from both ecosystems.
Cooperation between IT Park Uzbekistan and HKSTP has been progressing steadily. In July 2026, the two parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding, followed in August by a dedicated webinar for HKSTP companies and startups on opportunities to enter the Uzbek market. In September, collaboration continued with the visit of an IT Park Uzbekistan delegation to Hong Kong for the Belt and Road Summit 2026.
Hong Kong Science and Technology Park is a key innovation hub in Hong Kong, dedicated to R&D and deep-tech development. The HKSTP ecosystem includes more than 2,400 technology companies from 26 countries and over 17,000 R&D professionals, with a focus on artificial intelligence, robotics, biotechnology, fintech, smart city solutions, and advanced manufacturing.
