IT Park Uzbekistan and GITA discuss expanding cooperation in startups and innovation

The Innovation and Technology Agency of Georgia (GITA) is a governmental body functioning under the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia. Founded in 2014, GITA is instrumental in enhancing the nation’s innovation ecosystem by executing startup grant programs, fostering acceleration and incubation initiatives, broadening a nationwide network of technology parks and innovation centers, attracting investments, promoting digital skills, and aiding the international expansion of Georgian technology firms.

The meeting was a continuation of the collaboration initiated during GITA's visit to the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan in April 2026. Following this visit, a joint working group was formed, comprising representatives from the Ministry of Digital Technologies, IT Park Uzbekistan, the Agency for Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and GITA.

During the discussions, the Uzbek representatives invited GITA members to take part in ICT Week Uzbekistan. The parties examined opportunities for Georgian experts to engage in sessions centered on advanced technologies, innovation, and international collaboration.

As part of the meeting, IT Park Uzbekistan and GITA formalized their partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which signifies a new phase of cooperation between the innovation ecosystems of Uzbekistan and Georgia.

The Memorandum outlines a framework for collaboration in developing the startup ecosystem, supporting the international growth of technology companies, organizing joint events, webinars, and business missions, and enhancing cooperation through the Uzbekistan–Georgia Joint Working Group.

Under this partnership, the parties committed to jointly promoting the Land of Startups initiative, positioning Uzbekistan as a strategic entry point for Georgian startups aiming to access the Central Asian market. They also agreed to carry out joint events, business missions, and international promotion programs designed to support the global expansion of technology companies from both nations.
