IT Park Uzbekistan and Digital Knowledge Expand Cooperation to Attract Japanese Companies and Advance IT Education
The meeting included Abdulahad Kuchkarov, Advisor to the CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan, and Hiroaki Haga, Founder and CEO of Digital Knowledge Co., Ltd. The discussions continued efforts to enhance business and educational links between Uzbekistan and Japan.
Digital Knowledge focuses on e-learning, digital education, and IT talent development. A significant step in the partnership was the opening of IT Park Uzbekistan’s representative office in Tokyo on 12 May 2025, located at Digital Knowledge’s facilities.
The representative office promotes Uzbekistan’s technology ecosystem, fosters business connections, and assists Japanese companies interested in entering the Uzbek market.
In 2026, IT Park Uzbekistan conducted seminars and information sessions for Japanese businesses via its Tokyo representative office, providing insights into Uzbekistan’s IT ecosystem, investment opportunities, business environment, and the benefits of establishing operations in the country.
Key Areas of Cooperation
During the meeting, the parties outlined three priority areas for further collaboration:
Advancing IT Education and Talent Development
Another key topic was the development of Japan Digital University (JDU) in Tashkent, established by Digital Knowledge in December 2020. The university currently has over 700 students, demonstrating the growing educational collaboration between the two countries.
The parties also discussed increasing the number of Japanese-speaking professionals in Uzbekistan and creating new employment opportunities for them by attracting Japanese companies. They explored workforce development programs tailored to the needs of the Japanese market, including practical training, professional skills development, and Japanese language education.
Looking ahead, the collaboration between IT Park Uzbekistan and Digital Knowledge will focus on expanding the presence of Japanese technology businesses in Uzbekistan, supporting the international expansion of Uzbek startups, and developing a skilled workforce for joint projects.
