
FUJIFILM System Services plans to open an office in Uzbekistan
The Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, and the CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan, Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, convened with Naoki Hama, President and CEO of Fujifilm Business Innovation, and Isao Takamura, President of FUJIFILM System Services, along with senior leaders from the FUJIFILM Group and its associated entities. The meeting centered on the potential for establishing a corporate office in Uzbekistan, the hiring of local experts, and the enhancement of collaboration in the fields of information technology and education.
FUJIFILM System Services Corp., a key IT subsidiary of FUJIFILM Holdings, was founded in 1988 and is based in Tokyo. The firm specializes in IT infrastructure, systems integration, data management, AI-based solutions, and BPO services, primarily catering to the public, education, and healthcare sectors. With around 1,700 employees and annual revenues surpassing $840 million, the company operates an international offshore model, which includes an IT facility in Vietnam staffed by over 200 specialists.
During the discussions, the attendees thoroughly examined the possibility of establishing a FUJIFILM System Services outsourcing office in Uzbekistan. Significant attention was given to the current business environment, the availability of a skilled talent pool, and the state support mechanisms offered by the IT Park Uzbekistan ecosystem. Representatives from IT Park Uzbekistan detailed the tax incentives, infrastructure, and specialized support systems accessible to international IT companies.
A focused segment of the conversation addressed workforce development. The company expressed a keen interest in hiring professionals who are proficient in the Japanese language and in creating collaborative educational programs.
Additionally, the participants considered the potential initiation of supplementary training and practice-oriented programs aimed at improving digital skills, particularly in IT infrastructure, data management systems, and enterprise digital solutions. At the conclusion of the meeting, an agreement was made to continue the collaborative development of the company’s operational model in Uzbekistan and to outline the next steps for commencing business activities.
