On September 29, the first Uzbekistan–US Transport and Logistics Forum took place at the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Washington, D.C. The event was organized with the involvement of the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, IT Park Uzbekistan, and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United States.

The forum was attended by Furkat Sidikov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the United States; Ruslan Yapparov, Chief Growth Officer, North America at IT Park Uzbekistan; Lazizbek Khudaev, Director for Member Relations; Abdukhalim Khalilov, Advisor on Internal Affairs at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United States; Sherkhonkhuja Imomkhodjaev, CEO of Zone-OH LLC; Sukhrob Norbekov, Founding Partner of Norbek & Partners LLC; and Saidazim Burkhankhodjaev, CEO of ITF Group.

More than 65 representatives from the transport and logistics industry, businesses, government agencies, and law enforcement bodies participated in the forum. Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States in transport and logistics, as well as addressing business security and operational risk management.

Opportunities in Uzbekistan for Transport and Logistics Companies

The forum outlined opportunities for international transport, logistics, and service companies in Uzbekistan, including available support mechanisms, the country’s talent pool, and conditions for the development of BPO operations.

Uzbek companies are already providing services to the US transport and logistics sector in areas such as dispatching, accounting, fleet management, and recruitment.

Currently, more than 550 members of IT Park Uzbekistan are working with the US market.

Business Security and Operational Risks

A significant portion of the discussion was dedicated to current challenges in the US transport and logistics industry. Topics included fraud, business protection, incident response, and collaboration between companies, government agencies, and law enforcement bodies.

The session emphasized sharing practical experience and identifying mechanisms to reduce operational risks for companies operating in the US market.

Zero Risk Program

Participants were also presented with the Zero Risk program, which supports international companies launching or expanding their operations in Uzbekistan.

The program offers assistance with office infrastructure and equipment, recruitment and training of specialists, and partial reimbursement of payroll costs.

The first Uzbekistan–US Transport and Logistics Forum established a platform for direct dialogue between industry representatives from both nations and for exploring practical areas of cooperation, including the development of BPO and service operations in Uzbekistan to support the US market.
