
Azamat Karamatov appointed CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan
Azamat Karamatov has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of IT Park Uzbekistan, succeeding Abdulakhad Kuchkarov in this role.
In his capacity as CEO, Azamat Odilovich will oversee strategic initiatives aimed at advancing the nation’s information technology sector, fostering the startup and venture ecosystem, managing the activities of IT Park members, boosting exports of IT services and products, and attracting international technology firms to Uzbekistan. He will also coordinate efforts to enhance the effectiveness of IT Park's operations, promote innovative projects, and execute initiatives within the digital economy.
Azamat Karamatov earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from Tashkent University of Information Technologies between 2007 and 2013. He furthered his education at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 2016 to 2018.
Throughout his career, he has held various roles in the digital technology sector, including leadership positions at the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and has acquired substantial experience in the private sector. During this time, he has developed extensive expertise in building IT infrastructure, enhancing the legal and regulatory framework, implementing innovative projects, supporting startups, and attracting investments.
Before his current appointment, he was the CEO of IT Park Ventures LLC, a subsidiary of IT Park Uzbekistan. Under his guidance, the fund established one of the largest startup portfolios in the region, initiated the formation of joint venture funds with international partners, and co-developed programs focused on talent development, entrepreneurship support, assisting startups in entering global markets, and bolstering the innovation ecosystem.
